It was about eight years ago when Guillermo Andrade opened the doors to 424 on Fairfax, a cult-favorite lifestyle boutique that stocked coveted labels like Rick Owens, Fear of God, Stampd, Alexander Wang, and John Elliott. The selection of goods had attracted a solid fan base of influencers and menswear enthusiasts; however, about five years after he co-founded 424, Andrade decided to expand the brand with its own in-house apparel line.
“I’ve alway had a passion for clothing the time was right and was ready to try and make a small capsule collection, luckily I struck a nerve in the market,” he told Complex. “Its still one of my favorite projects actually.”
This weekend, the brand will roll out its Spring/Summer 2018 collection, which Andrade described as 424’s most elevated and refined range yet. There’s a stellar mix of streetwear staples—such as hoodies, graphic tees, and distressed denim—and more traditional menswear pieces, like trench coats, button-ups, trousers, and a 424-branded tie.
“[The] evolution of the brand has just been refining, refining, doing over and over again,” Andrade explained. “SS18 we have some new resources so it’s nice to be able to develop collections with more options to make the final product the best that it can be. If you buy our product we strive to make sure that it’s worth your money.”
